The flowers themselves were beautiful. I had a misunderstanding about placing the order: I was placing it remotely, by phone, and had asked for delivery on Valentine's Day. I hadn't realized that that could mean anytime until after nightfall. (They were delivered around 7pm, after the person they were intended for had left for the day.) In retrospect I should have asked for previous-day delivery — or the florist could have alerted me about delivery timing on a busy day. Still they looked great when the recipient saw them the next morning. If I do this again I'll know to ask about timing.
